Overview
Ivan J. Dolowich is the co-managing partner of Kaufman Dolowich. He is a nationally recognized, AV® Preeminent™-rated attorney with experience in matters pertaining to directors and officers (D&O) liability and financial lines, professional liability, errors and omissions (E&O), and insurance bad faith coverage. Mr. Dolowich has extensive experience in all aspects of property and casualty insurance claim management. He has handled numerous complex claims involving representations and warranties insurance, directors and officers liability, ERISA and fiduciary matters, insurance agents and brokers, investment advisors, attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, insurance companies, financial institutions, public companies, and not-for-profit organizations and their boards.
He also counsels clients on insurance underwriting and new product development and has assisted many clients in drafting insurance policies and endorsements. As an insurance industry leader, Mr. Dolowich serves as an expert witness on directors and officers liability and professional liability issues.
Mr. Dolowich frequently speaks at legal and insurance industry conferences, seminars, webinars, and in-house client CLE and CE training programs on D&O and professional liability matters. He was a recipient of the Heroes for Tolerance Award in 2023 and has served in numerous leadership roles. He was elected to the Board of Directors of Temple Or Elohim and to the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS) Conference Committee. In 2021, he was elected to the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County’s (HMTC) Board of Directors, where he continues to serve. In 2022, Mr. Dolowich served on the Conference Committee for the PLUS International Conference. From 2004 to 2007, he served as co-chair of the Annual PLUS D&O Symposium, and from 2012 to 2017, he served as a Trustee of the PLUS Foundation Board.
