Overview
Katharine W. Fogarty, a civil litigator, concentrates her practice in employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. She represents employers, including schools and school boards, in federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings in federal, state and local human rights agencies. She also concentrates on commercial litigiation and has experiencing in defending various clients in HOA disputes.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Fogarty counsels employers on a wide range of workplace issues, employment policies, severance contracts, and compliance with federal, state and local laws (including website and brick and mortar accessibility under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act). She assists employers in connection with hiring, discipline, and termination decisions and in implementing policies and strategies to prevent claims by drafting and reviewing handbooks and conducting training sessions on equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
Throughout her law school career, Ms. Fogarty clerked for Kaufman Dolowich. She also worked as a certified legal intern for the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, handling preliminary hearings at various courts throughout the county. Ms. Fogarty also successfully completed the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program during her law school career.
