Overview
Abbye E. Alexander is co-managing partner of the firm’s Orlando office and co-chair of the firm’s Managed Care Practice Group. She focuses her practice on issues affecting national and local businesses in various practice areas including civil litigation, torts, commercial and complex business litigation. Ms. Alexander also handles various types of insurance defense to include claims asserted against officers and directors and other professionals. In addition, she handles claims involving intentional and negligent torts, professional liability, and labor and employment matters, including claims of negligent hiring and retention, retaliation and discrimination in state and federal court.
Ms. Alexander’s clients include a wide range of health care professionals, organizations and facilities, doctors in various practices, automotive dealerships and national restaurant chains to name a few. She regularly represents these clients in business disputes involving various areas of their businesses to include professional licensing, labor and employment, contract disputes, trade secrets and non-compete litigation, workers compensation claims, insurance defense, fraud and unfair trade practice claims, landlord-tenant and other real estate disputes and torts.
An accomplished trial lawyer, Ms. Alexander has over 18 years of experience representing clients in complex business disputes at all stages of litigation, including numerous bench and jury trials in state and federal courts. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Alexander began her career as a public defender, where she led three jury trials in her first seven months on the job.
When not representing clients, Ms. Alexander is active in her community of Medical City, a Lake Nona planned community that features some of the area’s leading medical research facilities to include serving as a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.
