Ms. Alexander discusses how she nurtures her 20 year marriage while balancing her busy law career. Among key points, she stresses how it is important to be present and disconnect from technology at times. She notes in the article, “My husband and I made an agreement that, absent an emergency, I would leave the computer at a certain time each night. We even set an alarm. While it is not always easy to walk away, I make sure to leave the computer when the alarm goes off and join my family for dinner (no phones). No matter what I have going on, missing dinner is not an option. At times, I need to go back on afterwards, but never miss the opportunity to connect with the family for at least an hour every day.”
