Kaufman Dolowich Expands Footprint into Dallas and New Orleans; Adds The Myers Law Group and its Six Attorneys
Dallas/New Orleans (April 13, 2022) – Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP (KD), a leading national law firm, is pleased to announce its expansion into the Southern United States, adding six lawyers and the Myers Law Group (TMLG) Dallas and New Orleans offices to its roster.
The addition incorporates TMLG’s strengths in labor and employment law, wage and hour class actions, insurance defense, D&O matters, and general commercial litigation and business law into KD’s established legal resources. TMLG lawyers represent national and regional business clients and insurance groups, providing significant experience in employment and management/work environment matters, the hospital and healthcare sector, and the public and private secondary and higher education sectors.
“Texas is one of the largest and busiest legal jurisdictions in the country, while Louisiana presents an opportunity to expand our bench and services to clients, which makes this another important step in expanding KD’s national presence,” said Michael A. Kaufman, KD co-managing partner. “Partnering with an established firm that earned a sterling reputation in two important jurisdictions is a win for all our clients.”
With more than 200 attorneys in 17 U.S. offices, the expanded firm is ideally positioned to help clients achieve their business goals in both local and national business activities.
The Myers Law Group attorneys joining KD include named partner Angella H. Myers, partners Janice S. Parker, Mark Carver, of counsel Carol Stephenson, and associates Sharon S. Gilmore and John C. Krawczyk. The Myers Law Group’s Dallas and New Orleans offices now serve as new Kaufman, Dolowich & Voluck offices. Myers is the Office Managing Partner of both locations.
“With KD we found a firm that shares our cultural values in many respects, including our client-first operational standards and our commitment to diversity,” said Myers. “We are now better positioned to meet our clients’ needs around the country as they expand their businesses, with the comfort of knowing our KD colleagues will provide the same quality of service and care that has been the hallmark of our firm.”
“Our new colleagues handle a broad range of matters and have built an established presence in Texas and Louisiana that demonstrates active litigation and trial experience with success in both jurisdictions,” said Ivan Dolowich, KD co-managing partner. “In the employment space their experience runs the gamut, including trainings, onsite investigations, handbook review and EEOC representations. Additionally, the New Orleans lawyers serve in Louisiana’s unique legal community and civil court system, providing proficiencies that will greatly benefit our clients as well.” Dolowich continued, “Of course, we also receive a lot of requests from clients doing business in Texas and work is already flowing between our Texas colleagues and KD lawyers across our national platform.”
About the new KD attorneys:
Angella H. Myers joins KD as office managing partner of the Dallas and New Orleans offices and co-chair of the Labor and Employment Law practice group. Prior to founding the firm in 2006, Myers built a practice advocating for businesses with a focus on sensitive issues relating to labor and employment. She counsels clients facing difficulties before they turn into significant issues. From defense at the administrative level before the EEOC, TWC, DOL and OSHA, to complex business litigation, she advocates for amicable resolutions whenever possible. She also aggressively and successfully litigates matters in state and federal court when resolution is not possible.
Janice S. Parker joins KD as a partner in the Dallas office practicing employment law, business and commercial litigation and estate law. She represents various for-profit and non-profit business entities, including serving in investigations and as preventative legal counsel, as client representative/advocate for federal and state administrative matters, providing pre-litigation services and full-service litigation to address legal challenges ranging from contract enforcement, policy development and application, defense in employment matters, and other work-environment interests and disputes. Parker also has experience representing public and private secondary and higher learning institutions. In addition, Parker serves the Dallas community by volunteering with several organizations that provide assistance to single moms, schools, homeless persons, and women experiencing and recovering from abuse.

He represents and advises business owners on legal issues that arise from employer/employee relationships, including wage and hour laws, disability leave laws, workplace harassment, employee discrimination, and wrongful discharge matters. Carver regularly represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights. Carver litigates on behalf of private businesses, public entities and municipalities, sole practitioners, and on an array of commercial litigation matters. He has volunteered as an Assistant Bar Examiner for the Louisiana Supreme Court’s Committee on Bar Admissions since 2003. Carver previously served in the US Army Reserves for 21 years, retiring at the rank of Major in 2006, most recently serving as a JAG Officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
