Of Counsel attorney Stevie B. Baris concentrates her practice on the defense of professionals in malpractice actions.
Ms. Baris represents and defends professional services clients including accountants, lawyers, homeowners’ associations (HOAs), real estate agents and brokers, corporate directors and officers in private and public companies, and businesses covered under professional liability policies across California.
She handles cases from pre-litigation, including emergency response investigations, through active litigation and, when necessary, trial. She embraces the importance of her relationship with clients by emphasizing open lines of communication in all aspects of matter handling and analysis. This includes discussion and development of strategy plans, settlement negotiations, motion practice, early resolution and thoroughly preparing cases for trial.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Baris handled high-publicity and high-exposure litigation for Greek Letter Organizations, on matters ranging from claims of nuisance, to sexual assault and wrongful death, in state and federal courts throughout the United States. She also defended clients in general liability matters including catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death, professional liability, products liability, premises liability and sexual assault. This experience enrichs her general liability practice with invaluable insight when analyzing issues as efficiently and effectively as possible.
