Overview
Partner Seth D. Griep has significant law practice experience defending clients in a range of industries through commercial litigation, insurance coverage and litigation, professional liability, employment law, and general liability.
In his commercial litigation work, Mr. Griep defends business owners, shareholders, and nonprofit organizations in litigation arising from contract disputes, and shareholder and partnership disputes. His insurance coverage practice includes analyzing risk in policies for professional, general, and automobile liability. He also provides coverage opinions, negotiates pre-suit coverage disputes, and defends against coverage litigation.
In his professional liability work, Mr. Griep defends professionals including insurance brokers, real estate professionals and attorneys in defense of their livelihood and professional reputations against claims alleging professional negligence and breach of duty.
Mr. Griep’s employment work includes defending employers, pharmaceutical companies, and health care providers against claims of employment discrimination and unlawful termination. Additionally, he has represented manufacturers and distributors in defective products claims.
In his general liability work, he defends insureds in claims of construction defects, premises liability and auto liability, including those involving bodily injury. Additionally, he defends Kaufman Dolowich clients in high exposure worksite personal injury claims.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, he served as counsel for a Bergen County, New Jersey defense law firm, and at a prominent insurance company as senior claims analyst, handling first and third-party claims tendered under environmental pollution insurance policies.
Mr. Griep currently volunteers his time as an appointed member of his town’s planning board. Prior, he volunteered for more than ten years as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
