Overview

Robert J. Grande focuses his practice on professional liability and general liability.

Mr. Grande focuses on representing insurance agents and brokers in complex disputes with policyholders and insurers, including defense counsel outside of litigation for his clients. Through his years of practice, he has handled a broad range of matters from property damage claims to complex insurance disputes involving specialized types of coverage with multiple product lines. Additionally, Mr. Grande has significant experience in representing attorneys in negligence claims, and defending general liability matters including those arising under Labor Law 240 and 241, and employment disputes. He practices in both state and federal courts and strives to achieve clients’ goals in all matters, in an understanding of the significance to his clients’ business. Mr. Grande listens, provides  meaningful interaction, and updates clients on significant activities. 

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich LLP, he worked as a partner for Keidel & Cunningham, LLP. After over 20 years of successful practice, he joined with Kaufman Dolowich in 2024 to better serve the needs of the business and insurance industries.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Grande worked for several years at large national law firms in both Connecticut and New York handling various types of litigation. He began his career as a research clerk to the judges of the Connecticut Superior Court.
