Overview
Kevin Barlev focuses his practice on labor and employment law and professional liability.
He represents clients in a range of employment claims including alleged wage and hour violations, and collective Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions. He defends professionals in accusations of professional negligence and misconduct, including accountants and attorneys, covered under professional liability policies across California. In his attorney professional liability experience, he has represented law firms and solo practitioners related to alleged breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and legal malpractice with complex multiple defendant cases, including underlying family law proceedings, real estate disputes, and unlawful termination/other employment related cases.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Barlev worked at two law firms on an array of legal matters including corporate regulations, landlord/tenant laws, securities, trademark law, and estate planning. Prior to his law career, he was a tour guide increasing visitors at the Warner Brothers Studios and running special events. In law school, Mr. Barlev was awarded a (CALI) Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction honor, bestowed for the highest score in his class of professional sports law. He also served as executive operations editor of the communication and entertainment law journal, and president of the sports law society.
