Justin Russell

Overview

Attorney Justin Russell, Of Counsel, concentrates his law practice in financial services, corporate governance matters, and related commercial litigation and counseling.

Mr. Russell provides counsel and defense against individual and class action allegations invoking federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and State Attorneys General and Insurance Commissioners regulations. Additionally, Mr. Russell defends clients in claims recovery, subrogation, healthcare liability, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and ERISA matters.

Mr. Russell is also a legal strategist, offering guidance to entities and individuals and companies on a wide range of compliance matters across healthcare, insurance, subrogation, the credit and collections industry, and financial services. Mr. Russell specializes in diverse business disputes, navigating professional licensing matters, addressing employment issues, managing contract disputes, and ensuring adherence to governmental regulatory bodies.

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Russell held the position of Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, as well as Senior Vice President for over 13 years at a global financial services firm with over 2000 clients. In this role, he provided legal guidance in areas such as credit and collections, revenue cycle and receivables management, healthcare subrogation, property and casualty subrogation, claims auditing, and business process outsourcing (BPO).
