Kaufman Dolowich’s Abbye Alexander and Christopher Tellner, Co-Chairs of the Health Care/Managed Care Practice Group and Of Counsel Henry Norwood wrote an insightful article for Reuters on how hospital violence incidents often lead to lawsuits alleging that the hospital did not provide adequate security on the premises.
They caution providers that negligent security litigation arising from hospital violence is not showing any signs of slowing down. Subsequently, as these claims continue to be filed, plaintiff’s and defense counsel should be aware of the common pitfalls these cases often face to ensure claims with merit are filed and effectively litigated.
