Kaufman Dolowich Gains More Ground in New Delaware Office, Adding Partner Kristen Swift, 2-20-2024

Posted Feb 20, 2024

(Feb. 20, 2024, Wilmington, Del.) — Kaufman Dolowich, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Delaware Partner Kristen Swift. A well-respected longtime Delaware practitioner, Swift will focus her work in the areas of Insurance Coverage & Litigation, Labor and Employment Law, Commercial Litigation and Real Estate law. Swift joins just weeks following the announcement of the firm’s Delaware office opening and arrival of Delaware Office Managing Partner Loren Barron, Swift’s former colleague. Loren shares Swift’s enthusiasm for implementing the firm’s strategic plan to grow Kaufman Dolowich’s presence in the preeminent Delaware market.

“I am thrilled to start this new chapter in my career at Kaufman Dolowich; I have a great deal of admiration for the sophistication of this firm and heard only positive things from Loren after she made the transition to Kaufman Dolowich,” Swift said. “I pride myself on producing quality work and providing excellent and responsive client service, and I know Kaufman Dolowich shares those priorities. I am grateful and delighted to help the firm expand in this significant and world-renowned corner of the legal realm we proudly call home.”

“This is just the beginning of our Delaware development plan – we aim to create a significant footprint here,” said Michael Kaufman, Kaufman Dolowich co-managing partner. “Having these two women at the helm of this office, a distinction not that commonplace in this market, is something we are proud of and which strongly reflects our firm culture.”

Swift has experience representing clients in insurance coverage and professional and general liability matters, transactional, employment and employment defense work, including discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hours matters, class actions, in Courts, before administrative agencies and in alternative dispute resolution forums. She also handles a wide range of transactional real estate work, specifically matters involving home owner associations and premise issues.

“Kristen and I make an excellent team, and I am so glad to have her as my partner as we build the firm’s Delaware presence,” Barron said. “We both know this market well and have a broad network of industry connections that will assist us as we grow this office with quality lawyers.”

An engaged leader in local and national legal circles, Swift is currently serving a two-year appointment as a Trustee to the Delaware Supreme Court’s Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection, is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association’s editorial board for its publication, The Delaware Bar Journal, creating and curating content for a women-lawyer focused column, Creating Space in the LAW: Leadership, Advocacy, & Women, and is a member of Law360’s Delaware editorial advisory board. She is a frequent speaker at legal and industry conferences.

Swift received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Delaware Law School, and her B.S. from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
