Zascha Blanco Abbott

Overview

Partner Zascha Blanco Abbott has more than 20 years of experience representing employers in labor and employment matters.

She represents management in employment litigation involving wage and hour disputes, class actions, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment claims, breach of contract, and non-compete agreements. She also represents employers before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Florida Commission on Human Relations.

Ms. Blanco Abbott defends employers against claims under federal and state employment laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Her experience also includes website and physical accessibility claims, constitutional claims involving the First Amendment and Equal Protection Clause, whistleblower and workers’ compensation retaliation claims, and matters under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

In addition to litigation, Ms. Blanco Abbott advises employers on labor and employment issues, conducts workplace audits, develops employment policies and practices, and provides training.

Before joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Blanco Abbott practiced at law firms representing employers and served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami, where she represented municipal departments in labor and employment matters.

Ms. Blanco Abbott is proficient in Spanish.
