Overview
Reshma Khanna is the managing partner of Kaufman Dolowich’s Connecticut office and co-chair of our labor and employment practice group.
She concentrates her practice on all aspects of employment law, and defends employers in state and federal courts, before federal, state, and city agencies, and governing bodies. Ms. Khanna defends executives and employers involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, statutory violations, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and wage-and-hour violations, among others. Ms. Khanna routinely handles Title III ADA accessibility compliance concerns, and litigation for places of public accommodation, including website accessibility matters. Additionally, she provides preventive counseling and risk management strategy to insurers, employers, corporate boards, non-profits, and to management.
Ms. Khanna provides counsel to a range of employers regarding employment agreements and handbooks, employment policies, practices, procedures. She defends clients before administrative agencies including the New York State Department of Labor, the New York State Office of the Attorney General, the New York State Department of State, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and in matters regarding the Fair Housing Act.
Ms. Khanna has experience representing businesses and their management in commercial litigation matters involving claims of breach of contract, fraud, unfair competition, breach of duty, employee theft and social engineering fraud cases. Additionally, Ms. Khanna has experience in professional liability law and has defended accountants, attorneys, real estate and insurance professionals, homeowners associations, and nonprofit entities against errors and omissions claims in both state and federal courts.
From her prior experience in insurance law, Ms. Khanna brings a strategic approach. She has managed matters for large insurers, reinsurers, and claims management firms involving coverage determinations, assessing liability and damages, and negotiating favorable claim settlements involving employment practices and directors and officers liability, and errors and omissions.
