Overview

Rafael Pinkhasov concentrates his practice on construction law and commercial litigation, advising clients on both private and public construction projects and a range of business disputes. He negotiates and drafts construction contracts, guides clients through contract administration, and represents clients in claims, litigation, arbitration, and mediation, drawing on experience with matters involving architects, engineers, and business ownership disputes.

Before joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Pinkhasov clerked for a regional law firm, where he conducted legal research in construction, real estate, and commercial litigation, and drafted motions, memoranda, and agreements. He also served as a Judicial Intern to Judge Robert J. Prisco, preparing draft decisions and assisting with Article 78 proceedings and CPL 440 matters.

During law school, he worked as a field investigator, supporting counsel on insurance-related examinations and gathering witness statements, deeds, and licensing records across various municipalities. He also served as a BIM/CADD specialist with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, using his civil engineering background to develop Building Information Models from design files and point-cloud data.

Mr. Pinkhasov is fluent in Russian.
