Overview
Emily Taing concentrates her practice on employment law, professional liability, and commercial litigation. She represents employers in matters including wage and hour disputes, discrimination and wrongful termination claims, harassment allegations, and a range of business disputes involving breach of fiduciary duty, contract claims, negligence, and partnership disputes.
Ms. Taing began her legal career at Kaufman Dolowich as a law clerk, building a strong foundation with the firm early on. During law school, she gained valuable in-house experience at a fintech company, where she worked on privacy and financial regulatory matters involving the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). In that role, she also supported product development initiatives and assisted with licensing agreements. She further broadened her experience through a legal internship with the Federal Trade Commission, where she contributed to investigations involving telemarketing fraud and price-fixing.
While in law school, Ms. Taing demonstrated leadership and academic engagement through several prominent roles. She served as President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) at UC Law SF, Northern California Director of the National APALSA, and Editor-in-Chief of the UC Law Journal of Race and Economic Justice.
Ms. Taing is fluent in Teochew and Mandarin Chinese.
