Overview

Christopher Leland focuses his law practice in the areas of labor and employment, commercial litigation, and intellectual property.

Mr. Leland defends employers in wage and hour disputes, employment practices claims including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination allegations, and restrictive covenant enforcement matters. He provides counsel on employment policies, agreements, and compliance issues. His commercial litigation practice includes representing clients in business disputes, shareholder and partnership disagreements, and  in directors and officers (D&O) liability.  In Mr. Leland’s intellectual property work, he handles copyright, trademark, and trade secrets litigation, as well as disputes involving employee departures. 

Before joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Leland was an associate working on general liability, business and employment litigation, and intellectual property. Earlier, he served as a legal intern drafting business and licensing contracts at audiovisual and sports entertainment companies. He also assisted in intellectual property matters and while in law school, Mr. Leland supported independent filmmakers with contract formation at the school’s legal clinic. He also held leadership roles on the Moot Court Competition Board, the Entertainment & Sports Law Society, and as an Academic Fellow.
