Michael Kaufman Presenter Sexual Harassment and the Evolution of the #MeToo Movement (Nov. 12, 2018)

Posted Nov 13, 2018

Event Start Date: Nov 12, 2018

Michael Kaufman presented a course on new sexual harassment best practices following the #MeToo movement at the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) on November 12, 2018. CNA has quarterly meetings with the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs) and their professional liability insurance committee, which is comprised of prominent accounting practitioners from firms of various sizes, including some very large firms. The AICPA endorses CNA as a carrier. As such, they regularly report on claim trends and address relevant issues facing accounting firms.

Topics covered included types of sexual harassment, hostile work environments, retaliation, and the history of the #MeToo movement. Mr. Kaufman also gave examples of cases of sexual harassment that pertain specifically to accounting firms. He stressed the importance of making a complaint early, recording as much documentation as possible and the responsibilities of those in upper management. KD associate, Erika Rosenblum, also participated as a co-presenter.
