Kaufman Dolowich Welcomes Veteran Construction Litigator Kenneth Coronel as Partner in Los Angeles, 8-25-26

Posted Aug 25, 2026

LOS ANGELES (August 25, 2026) – Kaufman Dolowich, a leading national law firm, today announced that veteran litigator Kenneth Coronel has joined the firm as a partner in its Los Angeles office, strengthening the firm’s construction, professional liability and commercial litigation capabilities in California.

Coronel brings more than 35 years of litigation and counseling experience, with a particular focus on construction disputes and professional liability matters. He represents developers, project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and other design professionals in complex disputes involving construction defects, contractual claims, mechanics liens and payment claims. His broader practice encompasses business and commercial litigation and insurance defense.

“Ken’s depth of experience in construction litigation and his ability to step into complex, high-exposure matters will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said Dove A.E. Burns, Managing Partner of Kaufman Dolowich’s California offices. “He has represented virtually every participant in the construction process and understands these disputes from all sides. His addition meaningfully expands our capabilities in California, particularly in large and complex construction defect matters.”

For more than three decades, Coronel has handled construction disputes involving projects ranging from condominium complexes and large residential developments to high-end custom homes, high-rises, commercial properties and industrial facilities. His experience includes representing developers and contractors in matters involving significant potential exposure as well as managing complex, multiparty construction defect litigation.

Coronel also defends engineers, architects and other professionals against negligence, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims. He has experience in matters involving homeowners’ associations and condominium complexes and will complement the firm’s existing capabilities in those areas.

“I was looking for a firm where I could bring the full breadth of my experience to bear on clients’ most difficult problems while working in a collegial, personal culture,” Coronel said. “Kaufman Dolowich stood out to me for the quality of its lawyers, the strength of its practices and the collaborative environment the firm has built. At this stage of my career, my focus is on being of service to clients, taking on complex matters, finding practical solutions and helping them reach effective resolutions.”

Coronel spent five years as chief legal officer of a data and technology company serving the healthcare industry, where he established the company’s legal department and framework, oversaw contracting and worked closely with the business team on commercial matters. That in-house perspective informs his approach to litigation and his understanding of how legal strategy intersects with a client’s broader business objectives.

During his career, Coronel has represented clients in state and federal courts in matters involving claims totaling more than $800 million. He has tried cases to verdict and resolved hundreds of matters through arbitration and mediation.

Coronel earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and his B.S. from California State University, Northridge. He is admitted to practice in California, all four U.S. District Courts in California and the U.S. Supreme Court.
