Global Legal Chronicle, “Kaufman Dolowich Adds John Simon as Partner in Professional Liability Practice,” 8-28-26
The Global Legal Chronicle highlighted the addition of John Simon to the firm’s Woodbury, New York, office as a member of the firm’s Professional Liability Practice Group.
Mr. Simon focuses his practice on professional liability defense, primarily representing attorneys and insurance brokers in matters involving legal malpractice, negligence, fraud, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. He brings extensive defense litigation and trial experience to the role.
“I’ve spent the majority of my career on the defense side, and my brief experience on the plaintiffs’ side reinforced that defense work is where I want to be,” Mr. Simon noted in the article. “I was familiar with Kaufman Dolowich’s reputation and strong presence on Long Island and nationally, and I share the firm’s focus on quality work and personalized client service. Taken together, it was clear that joining this team was a natural fit for how I want to continue building my practice.”
“John brings the kind of hands-on litigation and trial experience that is invaluable in defending professionals against complex claims,” said Brett Scher, Chair of Kaufman Dolowich’s Professional Liability Practice Group and Co-Managing Partner of the firm’s Long Island office. “His experience on both sides of a case gives him an additional perspective when evaluating litigation strategy, and his commitment to thoughtful, high-quality work aligns well with our approach.”
