“John brings the kind of hands-on litigation and trial experience that is invaluable in defending professionals against complex claims,” said Brett Scher, chair of Kaufman Dolowich’s Professional Liability Practice Group and Co-Managing Partner of the firm’s Long Island office. “His experience on both sides of a case gives him an additional perspective when evaluating litigation strategy, and his commitment to thoughtful, high-quality work aligns well with our approach.”
For Simon, joining Kaufman Dolowich also presents an opportunity to broaden his defense practice by applying that litigation experience to professional liability matters, particularly the defense of attorneys in legal malpractice cases and insurance brokers facing professional liability claims.
“I’ve spent the majority of my career on the defense side, and my brief experience on the plaintiffs’ side reinforced that defense work is where I want to be,” Mr. Simon said in the article. “I was familiar with Kaufman Dolowich’s reputation and strong presence on Long Island and nationally, and I share the firm’s focus on quality work and personalized client service. Taken together, it was clear that joining this team was a natural fit for how I want to continue building my practice.”
