Overview
Timothy R. Thiel focuses his practice on labor and employment law, representing employers in wage-and-hour disputes, discrimination and wrongful discharge claims, harassment matters, and actions under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). He also defends employers in litigation involving retaliation, termination, single-plaintiff and class actions, including matters under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Thiel was a business immigration attorney at a global law firm, advising Fortune 100 employers on immigration compliance, workforce planning, and regulatory matters affecting large employee populations. He collaborated closely with in-house counsel and HR leadership on restructures, acquisitions, and cross-border workforce transitions, providing practical guidance on hiring practices, documentation, and audit preparedness.
