Overview
Miranda Mendez focuses her practice on labor and employment law.
She advises and defends employers in matters such as wage and hour disputes, workplace discrimination and harassment, retaliation claims, wrongful termination, and whistleblower allegations. She represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and handles litigation under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and other federal and state employment laws.
Ms. Mendez first joined Kaufman Dolowich as a law clerk. Prior to joining the firm, she gained experience at an employment law firm, where she drafted and reviewed litigation documents, conducted investigations, performed legal research, and assisted with trial preparation. She also clerked at another firm, where she interviewed clients, prepared discovery materials for mass tort cases, participated in hearings and status conferences, and managed extensive caseloads, including organizing and maintaining hundreds of client files.
