Overview
Mina Zaky focuses his practice on commercial litigation and labor and employment law. He manages litigation and discovery in federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies. He is also a Michigan Certified Civil Mediator.
Mr. Zaky represents employers facing allegations of discrimination, and violations of federal and state civil rights statutes. He provides counsel on compliance under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and drafts personnel policies and employee agreements. Additionally, he defends against claims under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). In his commercial litigation work, Mr. Zaky supports clients in general litigation, business formation, and shareholder disputes.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Zaky focused on corporate transactional labor and employee matters and provided guidance on employee benefit plans. He advised investment consultants and union trustees on union-management partnerships, and various businesses for compliance under ERISA. Additionally, Mr. Zaky represented public and private companies in company formation, financing, and offerings.
During law school, Mr. Zaky honed his skills serving as a law firm clerk, a mediation center extern, and as a legal intern at a nonprofit organization.
Mr. Zaky is fluent in Arabic.
