Overview
Attorney Libbi L. Vilher focuses her practice on employment law. She represents a variety of clients in employment matters including claims of alleged discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and in retaliation matters. Additionally, Ms. Vilher litigates wage and hour compliance cases.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Vilher served as an assistant district attorney in Nassau County, New York, where she prosecuted criminal cases. She handled cases of drug and weapon possession, drunk driving, armed robberies, special victims, and murders. She served in the District Attorney’s District Court Trial Bureau and in the Appeals Bureau, and communicated with victims, witnesses, law enforcement personnel, and other attorneys.
Before becoming an attorney Ms. Vilher served the Israeli Defense Forces, successfully completing her service with the rank of Private First Class. She is fluent in Russian and has conversational Hebrew and Ukrainian language skills.
During law school, Ms. Vilher was an editor of the school’s Corporate Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She received several awards: she was a semifinalist in the Costello National Criminal Law Trial Advocacy Competition; a two-time recipient of the Brooklyn Law School Endowed Scholar Award; a two-time awardee of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. She was recognized for her many hours of pro bono work by being awarded the Gold BLS Pro Bono Award.
