Overview
Attorney Lapo Torrini focuses his practice on employment law, professional liability and general liability defense.
Mr. Torrini assists companies and non-profit organizations of all sizes on a broad range of employment-related issues, including the development of compliant employment policies and practices, as well as the defense of matters alleging discrimination and wrongful discharge. He defends clients before state and federal courts, the United States Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the New York State Division of Human Rights (NYSDHR).
In addition to his work in employment law, Mr. Torrini handles the defense of both professional and general liability litigated matters. This includes defending against construction accident claims and litigation alleging negligence and violations of New York Labor Law sections 240 and 241, as well as malpractice actions against insurance brokers, agents, architects, and engineers, alongside premises liability matters.
Previously Mr. Torrini handled E-discovery for mergers and acquisitions, investigations under anti-trust law, telecom, and pharmaceutical matters. Additionally, he handled employment law, professional liability, and general liability as an associate at the former firm Babchik & Young before they joined Kaufman Dolowich LLP.
Mr. Torrini is fluent in Italian.
