Overview
Kristen Ruotolo focuses her practice on consumer financial services, creditor’s rights and commercial litigation. This includes matters under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). She represents agencies, creditors, and law firms against individual and class-action allegations under federal and state consumer protection laws.
Ms. Ruotolo has experience representing multinational corporations, individuals, and financial institutions in accounts receivable recovery, repayment matters, and outstanding accounts pertaining to consumer and commercial transactions. She provides counsel through the challenges associated with regulatory inquiries, investigations, and internal compliance reviews. Additionally, Ms. Ruotolo is experienced in alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Ruotolo worked at two of the largest consumer collections law firms in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Recently, she worked for several insurance defense firms representing individuals and corporate entities in civil litigation, including unfair business practices and insurance claims. Additionally, Ms. Ruotolo has experience in a range of general liability cases, motor vehicle injury claims, pharmaceutical matters, wrongful death, professional malpractice and minor settlements.
