Overview

Joshua S. Hopps represents and defends companies in complex commercial litigation and employment matters across arbitration, state, and federal courts.

His commercial litigation practice encompasses a broad range of disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of warranty, and negligent misrepresentation, as well as property rights issues, business interruption claims, and wildfire-related litigation. He also advises clients on litigation strategy and provides contractual, and risk analysis related to commercial agreements.

In his employment practice, Mr. Hopps represents employers in matters involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes.

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Hopps practiced civil litigation at a national law firm. He also served as a Deputy District Attorney with the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office, where he tried more than ten jury trials to verdict and handled misdemeanor appellate matters on behalf of the County.
