Overview
Partner John H. FitzSimons has expertise in C-Suite, directors’ and officers’ liability coverage matters, professional and financial lines liability coverages, insurance bad faith defense, fiduciary coverage, and complex commercial insurance coverage defense law.
For more than 30 years, his practice has focused on contentious and non-contentious insurance coverage analysis for thousands of complex claims. His cases involve securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, SEC investigations, creditor claims, and previously included those involving Enron, Worldcom, and the 2008 financial crisis. Mr. FitzSimons’ work includes advising clients based in the London market on cross-border exposures, and interfacing with counsel outside the U.S..
Mr. FitzSimons regularly participates in mediations, arbitrations and lawsuits involving coverage disputes. He has been involved in declaratory judgments actions, including many held outside the U.S., supporting insurance coverage determinations,as well as facilitating hundreds of settlements.
