Overview
James Bonnie focuses his practice on labor and employment law, representing clients in litigation, disciplinary actions, wrongful termination disputes, wage and hour matters, administrative hearings, and workplace investigations. He defends public agencies and school districts against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under federal and state law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and Section 1983.
Before joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Bonnie practiced at a regional law firm, where he handled complex labor and employment litigation and represented public agencies. Earlier in his career, he served as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Kings, trying more than 15 jury trials to verdict and numerous bench trials and hearings in cases involving white-collar crime, homicide, human trafficking, and gang-related offenses.
