Overview

Emily Zahran concentrates her practice in labor and employment law and insurance coverage and litigation.

Ms. Zahran counsels employers on a broad range of employment-related matters, including litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes, as well as proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the New York State Division of Human Rights (NYS-DHR). She also advises on internal investigations, compliance issues, and matters arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).

In addition, Ms. Zahran represents insurance companies in coverage risk management, policy underwriting, and claims handling. Her work includes policy drafting and coverage analysis, advising on coverage-related risks, and negotiating terms and settlements with national insurance carriers.

Ms. Zahran first joined Kaufman Dolowich as a law clerk. During law school, she gained practical legal experience through internships and externships, including work at a real estate law firm and with the Pace Women’s Justice Center, where she conducted legal research, communicated with clients, attended court proceedings, and provided Spanish-to-English translation services.

Ms. Zahran is fluent in Spanish.
