Overview

Carmelia Grymes focuses her practice on commercial litigation, representing businesses, shareholders, and public entities in a broad range of complex disputes.

Ms. Grymes has significant experience representing New Jersey public entities in litigation involving personal injury claims, contract disputes, and matters arising under the Open Public Records Act (OPRA).

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Grymes practiced at a regional New Jersey law firm, where she handled complex commercial litigation matters. Earlier in her career, she served as a criminal prosecutor with the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Florida (Orange and Osceola Counties), where she developed extensive courtroom and trial experience.

Ms. Grymes also served as a senior attorney with Children’s Legal Services in Florida, advising child protective investigators and case managers and litigating dependency and termination of parental rights cases. In addition, she has experience representing condominium associations in Florida in property-related defense matters.
