Overview
Alisha Talati concentrates her practice in labor and employment law.
She represents business and insurance clients in all aspects of employment litigation including claims of alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other violations of federal, state, and local civil rights statutes. She also defends employers facing wage and hour violation allegations regarding unpaid wages, tips, and bonuses. She advises employers concerning employment policies and defends clients facing audits and investigations by the New York State and U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), New York State Division of Human Rights (NYSDHR) and the New York City Commission on Human Rights (NYCCHR). Ms. Talati also represents property owners and management company clients in fair housing matters.
She conducts prevention trainings to employees and managers on anti-discrimination and sexual harassment and helps develops employment handbooks. Additionally, Ms. Talati works with for profit and nonprofit entities preparing by-laws, shareholder agreements, conflict of interest, corporate compliance, and investment policy documents.
