Overview
Alexandria Hobson concentrates her practice in labor and employment law and consumer financial services.
She defends clients in a range of employment matters including wage and hour violations, workplace discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination. She also represents employers in collective Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions and defends claims under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). Ms. Hobson regularly represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Civil Rights Department (CRD). Additionally, she assists employers in reviewing and drafting personnel policies and employment agreements.
In her consumer financial services practice, Ms. Hobson defends institutions against federal and state consumer class actions in a range of matters including allegations of breach of contract, unlawful debt collection practices, and violations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
She is experienced in handling all phases of litigation including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, mediation, trial, and post-trial motions.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Hobson served as the Pasadena, CA office managing partner at a national litigation defense firm, handling employment, consumer and general liability matters. Prior to that, she worked as an associate at a boutique California firm litigating federal and state civil claims concerning employment discrimination and retaliation, personal injury and civil rights. During law school, Ms. Hobson was an extern with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where she researched securities violations.
