Although employers are warming to COVID-19 vaccine mandates, they may quickly find themselves in legal hot water if they go too far in questioning whether beliefs cited by employees who want religious exemptions are legitimate…

“We are bombarded with questions regarding religious exemptions,” said Philip Voluck of Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP, who co-heads the firm’s labor and employment practice. “In fact, our advice has been sought more with relation to religious exemptions than health exemptions. And it’s only going to get bigger; the tests are just so broad.”
