Stefanie A. Singer was invited to be a Guest Lecturer at St. John’s University School of Law, Representing Clients in Mediation course taught by Assistant Dean of Dispute Resolution Programs, Director of the Hugh L. Carey Center for Dispute Resolution and Professor, Elayne E. Greenberg. Ms. Singer’s class, presented to 2nd and 3rd year law students, covered the basics of legal malpractice and offered practical techniques for lawyers representing clients in mediations, and in settlement negotiations generally (such as the duty to keep the client informed of settlement negotiations, properly documenting the case file, and obtaining the client’s informed consent when executing settlement agreements and releases.)
