Sony Pictures Entertainment faces data breach lawsuits, Daily Journal ft. Mark Mao

Hsiao (Mark) C. Mao, Vice Chair of both KD’s Technology Practices Group and Financial Services Practice Group, is quoted in an article regarding the lawsuits filed against Sony Pictures Entertainment following their recent data breach. The article was published by the Daily Journal on December 17, 2014.

“I think the biggest difficulties for plaintiffs’ counsel continues to be showing the causation factor,” said Mark C. Mao, a partner at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP. “How do you show that one breach is necessarily the cause of another breach? A mere breach alone is not significant to confer Article III standing.”
