“One of the great rewards of working in the field of employment law is the significant personal involvement with clients and the relationships that form through those interactions,” said Ms. Stewart. “Employment issues are very personal and helping employers through not only the legal maze but the very personal matters that arise has always attracted me to the work. I enjoy helping my clients deal with these challenges and reaching successful outcomes.”

Stewart comes to Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck from Nemecek & Cole where she was a member in the firm’s Sherman Oaks, CA office. Prior to that, Stewart was managing partner of the Los Angeles office of Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr.’s law firm, The Cochran Firm, where she was a plaintiff’s lawyer and chair of its employment litigation department, working with Mr. Cochran on many high profile, multi million dollar cases.

“Cameron’s experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants gives her the two perspectives that will be tremendously beneficial to our clients,” said Michael A. Kaufman, co-managing partner, KD. “Cameron’s arrival greatly enhances our Los Angeles employment defense group, which now boasts three highly skilled and experienced litigation partners as part of a team of 12 attorneys building on one of the firm’s core strengths.”

Stewart earned her B.A. from Gonzaga University and her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in California.

“Joining KD, a leading employment and insurance defense firm, provides me with the chance to work with colleagues on both coasts and expand my practice to a national level,” said Stewart. “I also see this as an opportunity to expand my work with small and start-up companies which, as they grow, are forced to deal with all of the nuances of employment law, such as wage and hour issues, employee manuals, benefits, and diversity and gender training, and really need help navigating the issues brought on by a larger workforce.”
