KD Celebrates Women’s History Month

The 1st female U.S. lawyer argued to have her high-scoring Bar exam accepted because only men were allowed to take the exam in 1869. Following an Iowa court ruling to accept women and people of color into the Iowa Bar Association, Arabella Mansfield was admitted to practice law. Ms. Mansfield chose to focus on college teaching and being an activist. Diversity Lab established the Mansfield Rule in 2017 to help hold law firms accountable for their diversity goals. Today, Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck is proud to be a three-time Mansfield Certified firm, for our own commitment to diversity.
