Kaufman Dolowich Adds Partner Jody Cappello Expanding Firm’s Professional Liability Practice into the Constitution State, 11-19-2025

New Haven, Conn. (Nov. 19, 2025) – Kaufman Dolowich, a leading national law firm, today announced Jody Cappello has joined the firm as a partner, expanding the firm’s Professional Liability practice into Connecticut.

A Connecticut native, Cappello brings more than two decades of experience to the New Haven office, representing clients in a wide range of professional liability matters. In his practice, Cappello routinely defends attorneys in legal malpractice claims and grievance proceedings, and also represents accountants, real estate professionals, insurance brokers, property managers and other professionals in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.

In addition, Cappello brings a great deal of employment law experience. He defends employers in litigation and pre-litigation alternative dispute resolution and advises on myriad issues related to the employer-employee relationship, including discrimination, harassment, FMLA, restrictive covenant claims and non-compete agreements.

Cappello joins following the arrival of Dove A.E. Burns, the firm’s New Haven Office Managing Partner and Regional Managing Partner of the California offices. Having known Burns professionally for many years, Cappello was attracted to the firm by its continued recruitment of top-tier practitioners, and the firm’s sterling reputation in the professional liability sector.
