11th Circ. Will Rehear Debt Collection Privacy Suit, Law 360, quote by Richard Perr, November 17, 2021

 An en banc panel of appellate judges will reconsider if a debt collector’s transmission of  personal information to a third party violated federal privacy laws. The order vacates an earlier Eleventh Circuit decision.  

Richard Perr, counsel for Preferred Collection, hailed the order as a victory for the financial services industry and expressed his hope of restoring the district court’s decision to toss Hunstein’s claims. “An interpretation [of the FDCPA] that penalizes a company for using modern technology is off-base,” Perr said.  Please see full article at the link below.
