Overview
Talya Van Embden focuses her practice on labor and employment, general liability, and health care and managed care defense.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Van Embden represented clients in litigation matters including wrongful death and catastrophic injury negligence claims, employment practices, and Americans with Disability Act (ADA) matters. Additionally, she conducted multiple settlement negotiations to resolve claims in both pre-suit and trial matters.
Ms. Van Embden also gained significant law experience serving as a law clerk and legal intern for several local Fort Lauderdale law firms. While in law school Ms. Van Embden was an associate editor and published author for Nova’s Law Review Journal. She was published for her article on robotic medicine titled “Paging Dr. Robot: Applying an Outdated, Regulated Scheme to Robotic Medicine.” She served as president of the university’s Florida Association of Women Lawyers. Additionally, she was the executive coordinator of the Nova Trial Association and an advocate in the Moot Court Honor Society where she won several competitions.
