Overview

Mitchell J. Koch focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law, general liability, and professional liability.

His commercial litigation work includes representing businesses in shareholder disputes and in allegations of breaches of fiduciary duty, as well as homeowners associations (HOAs), and also serving as counsel to state and federal court-appointed receiver of properties and businesses. In professional liability matters, Mr. Koch defends clients against allegations of negligence. His general liability practice includes defending property damage and premises liability claims for a range of clients.

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Koch was an associate at a national firm representing insurance carriers in coverage bad faith litigation, and previously worked at a boutique firm specializing in fraud and commercial dispute matters for corporate clients. During law school, he served as a law clerk at the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Florida, and interned at local law firms. Mr. Koch competed in several Moot Court competitions, where he earned the intramural Best Oralist award at his law school and placed as a national semi-finalist. He was also a member his school’s Business Law Review, Hispanic National Bar Association, and the Cardozo Jewish Legal Society.
