Overview
Jessica Cousett is an experienced litigation and trial attorney who focuses her practice on labor and employment, and commercial litigation.
In her labor and employment work, she represents a variety of business and insurance companies in all facets of employment and workplace issues, from employment practices liability defense to traditional management-labor matters. Ms. Cousett defends clients in claims related to employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, retaliation, and sexual harassment. She proactively assists companies to make sure that appropriate policies are in place to avoid potential wage and hour violations and related exposure. In her commercial litigation practice, Ms. Cousett handles business disputes including contract disputes and high-value negligence claims.
Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Cousett worked at a State Attorney’s Office where she successfully first chaired high-profile jury and bench trials. Additionally, Ms. Cousett gained significant experience negotiating plea agreements, and holding/defending depositions. During law school, Ms. Cousett served the National Labor Relations Board in Atlanta, GA, as a law clerk working on unfair labor practices.
