Overview

David Penner concentrates his practice in employment law.

Mr. Penner defends against labor and employment claims including Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and collective Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions.  He  defends clients facing class and collective actions, and provides human resources counsel and training, personal policies and employment agreements. 

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Mr. Penner focused on litigation primarily for municipal clients, with an emphasis on labor and employment and business litigation. This included all aspects of trial preparation and risk management analysis. He previously defended employment law matters, contract disputes, and tort claims on behalf of public and private entities and was a plaintiff’s associate working in employment and consumer class actions.

During law school he served as a law clerk assisting with creditors business litigation and bankruptcy matters.
