Overview
Alexandra Nielsen is an associate who focuses her law practice in consumer financial services.
Ms. Nielsen’s work includes advising clients in the credit and collection industry. This includes review, implementation and auditing of clients’ policies and procedures for adherence with governmental regulatory bodies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Electronic Funds Transfer Act. She represents creditors, law firms, and the accounts receivable management industry in navigating both individual and class-action allegations under federal and state consumer protection laws.
She assists clients in evaluating their products, policies and procedures to determine the risk of a violation of financial regulations. Ms. Nielsen counsels and defends clients during inquiries and enforcement actions initiated by regulators including the Federal Trade Commission, State Attorneys General, and the Federal Reserve.
Previously, Ms. Nielsen served as a law clerk in the Court of Common Pleas in Delaware. During law school, she was a judicial intern in the Superior Court of Delaware working on various cases in its Complex Commercial Litigation Division involving intricate contractual disputes between sophisticated parties. In addition, she was a staff editor for The Widener Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the Transactional Law Honor Society.
